Dress – ebay, jumper – Asos, boots – Yull, tights – Primark

Last6 of the snow outfits! I was so cold out there I ended up all hunched over and look a wee bit sulky. Ironically it was up to 15 degrees yesterday as opposed to minus 5. Weird times. Exciting news for me, I’ve set my sights on a 10k (that’s 6 miles if like me, 10k has no meaning to you) run in a few months time. I have restarted running again this year when the snow hasn’t put a stop to it. It’s great to know that my performance has improved by far. I can keep running for just under two miles before I have to stop as opposed to this time last year when it was *ahem* not quite the end of the road. Still got quite a way to go yet in terms of training and although it’s possible to walk the thing, I want to actually run for at least the majority! Mad? Maybe! It’s actually a really big deal to me so I’m taking the challenge seriously and plan to push myself over the coming weeks. I’m giving sprint training a go to get my cardio up and active but do you have any words of advice or clever tips?

  1. Well done on the running, I wish I could make myself run but I'm hopeless and find it all too easy to just stop and walk at the end of the road. I'm much better in classes at the gym, like spinning etc, where I am being told what to do next, so I don't think it's a stamina / strength problem so much as a self-motivation one.

  4. Once our snow is gone,I plan to start training for a 5K. I've used a Couch to 5K phone app in the past, which has worked pretty well.

  12. Good luck with the training! Hill training is meant to be good for upping your speed on the flat, I've just started that and it's not fun! Now that you're able to do 2k you'll find it gets much easier to increase your distances :)
