Jacket - a gift, skirt - charity shop (Viyella), top - Primark (old), necklace - Select, boots – Internacionale, bracelet – no idea

Admittedly, it's less tartan at midnight and more tartan with a midnight blue jacket but that's just a minor detail. This is the skirt I bought to replace my treasured Jaeger skirt that I foolishly popped into the washing machine and trashed. This skirt isn't quite as thick and it doesn't have such lovely pleats but to all intents and purposes it's the same item. The waistband is a fair bit larger, or my waist has narrowed which is unlikely, so it sits on my hips instead of snugly at the waist (it's a size 12 as was the last one) and once again grazes my ankles. I can't help feeling like a pair of kick-ass heels are in order else putting myself at risk of looking rather dumpy.

Despite the black in the skirt I'm enjoying the blue velvet jacket alongside it, especially as I just don't wear it often enough. Do you find you have some absolute favourites that for some reason you just don't end up wearing much at all? Such a waste!

Unfortunately Husband was unavailable for taking any photographs for me at the weekend so I had to make do on my own. He was legitimately busy, not on strike in case you're fearing the worst. Hopefully next week will be more fruitful.

Have a good week everyone! I’m in such a good mood, can you tell?
