Heavy frost frozen winter Norfolk countryside landscape

There is so much to say about this day. On perhaps the coldest day of the winter so far when the heavy frost stayed put all day with the sun doing little to melt the coldest of hearts we went out walking by the river and saw the prettiest frozen world. It stretched far beyond the bounds of my imagination and expectations with my eyes feasting in each delight from the rolling landscape to each tiny iced frond on a plant.

My hands, feet and face grew increasingly numb but it was worth it in riches; the wonder of nature being able to produce such a vision. The mist never cleared fully which gave an eeriness off in the distance, more pictures to share with you another time.

I really hope these images make you feel something too.

  1. Beautiful pics, as always. They make me feel cold but a good cold (if that's possible). They inspire me to go out and take pictures of frost on plants in the garden, but it's bloomin' dark when I leave and when I get home! Maybe the weekend will bring frost.

  2. I always get so jealous of lovely frosty pictures, since you rarely get that beauty in the North East, it is just grey and wet.
You really are a talented nature photographer!
