Yesterday we made a return visit to Oxburgh Hall to make the most of a dry winter's afternoon. Although mild, the wind-chill factor certainly kept us chilled and I was thankful for my warm coat, tartan scarf, hat and solitary glove (attempting to use my camera with a right-hand glove has as yet proved tricksome at best and hopeless at worst). I heard on the grapevine that it was free entry to the Oxburgh Hall estate that day which made a change for a walk, it's good to stretch our legs and a bit of new scenery is most welcome it has to be said.

It was inspiring to see the signs of spring gradually appearing; we spotted hundreds, nay, thousands of snowdrops emerging on the forest floor. I was so excited to see them, there was a magical feel to seeing such a number; creating almost a carpet of white pearls around the great old trees. Not a sight I can say I've taken time to enjoy before.

Although the landscape predominantly portrayed the cold winter of January the snowdrops together with the catkins were the little indications that brighter times are on their way.
