Norwich Fashion Week Vintage Show Wex
On Sunday I went along to the Vintage Fashion Show as part of Norwich Fashion Week which showcased the best of the vintage scene the city has to offer. The event was held at the Norwich Puppet Theatre, a converted church which is quite a fascinating building it has to be said.
The show was a brilliantly co-ordinated evening with a varied mix of local businesses taking part to show off their wares. I was lucky enough to be invited along by the sponsors of the event Wex Photographic.

I took a lot of photographs in the fervent hope that I could share some with you to give a flavour of the evening. It was a huge leap out of my comfort zone as I'm usually to be found outside in wide open spaces flooded with natural light, photographing trees and flowers which although may move a little in the breeze, certainly do not twirl around and walk off unexpectedly never to return again. However, after picking the brains of my trusted professional photographer friends JPatrick Photographic and Jon Clifton I at least had a better idea of how to set up my camera for the scenario. I increased my ISO to 400-800, shutter 1/160 had a little experiment with the white balance setting to see what was working best (it's here I think maybe I could have done better). Nevertheless, I'm thrilled with how a few of my pictures came out and pleased on the whole with the remainder. I chanced it with a 28-120mm lens instead of my favourite 50mm prime as I needed some flexibility.

The models were absolutely stunning and so professional, I was in awe. Even more so when they were walking around in underwear, good grief.

Although so many of the pieces were right up my street, the dress that stole my heart was this gorgeous sparkly long sleeved number. My idea of perfection!

It was such a great evening, there was a real buzz in the air and for me, it really opened my eyes to the vintage scene in Norwich. I will have to get up the city more often to browse the boutiques and take home some gems for myself.
