These autumn days, so much to see

There's so much to see and do outside at the moment, so I'll share all the recent photographs with in in instalments. If you plan an outing with careful consideration to the forecast it's still pleasant to take a steady walk.

The berries are out in force and hips. There are still a few little wildflowers in bloom.

A den! Or set! My imagination has conjured up a little family of badgers or foxes who are living down there. I hope so. In reality it could well be more rabbits.

Acorns galore and some unexected insects. I'm unsure of this big chap below, a hornet maybe?

A swarm of insects writhing in the sunshine. They certainly had a zest for life about them.

  3. These photos are just gorgeous as always. I think the light in autumn is beautiful. It has a golden quality to it that sets of the turnng leaves perfectly. I need to get out exploring some more.

  4. Yes that is a hornet, you can tell from the size and red colouration amid the yellow stripes.
