Early spring in the sticks

Despite the dismal forecast this weekend we managed to get out a fair bit and spend a good amount of time outdoors. I had my heart set on taking a photograph of the flowering crocuses that are popping up everywhere but in typical fashion, none presented themselves at all, so I shall have to exercise patience.
Catkins hung from branches a-plenty. So did droplets of rain which had long since finished falling.
The trees along the roadside were bursting into blossom but of course, not a single frond of blossom was on show once my camera was to hand - isn't that typical?.
The signs of change are certainly prevalent at the moment, in a few weeks' time the countryside landscape will look so different.
