My, my, my, the weekend was so sunny! In a short interim break from our spring toil at the allotment we took a stroll and a bite to eat out to soak up the midday sun. It felt as wonderful as it sounds. I took a few snaps of the new growth and the pretty little things which caught my eye.

Even the dead nettles looked pretty to me; nestled in the lush shoots of grass.

A lot of these bright and cheerful flowers which I see every year but reliably fail to remember the name of.

The teeny, tiny little wildflowers are starting to appear everywhere. It's heartening. And blackthorn blossom - come on you little busy bees, we want sloes!

Two lime green butterflies zipped past me, leaving no opportunity to get a picture but this sunbather was happy to pose a while.

Wowee, this heavenly pink fluffy blossom is a beauty against this blue sky.
