butterflies in Norfolk in summer 2017
A few fluttering beauties today... I'm particularly excited to look up the butterflies I spot this summer in my book. Theses are small skippers I think, the males have a black line or sex-brand.

Above, I think a ringlet and below, a gatekeeper.

Well, my conclusion is 'small white' but I remain unconvinced.

Have you ever seen a blue one? I haven't but would love to. There was a beautiful black and white butterfly which flew tantalisingly close, then scarpered before landing so alas, no picture or identification. Though the fact remains I get really shrieky when they fly too close towards me, it's most unsettling.
