The snow day that wasn't

Monday, December 11, 2017

After all the anticipation the snow day yesterday turned out to be a real disappointment. Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of snow being out in the countryside where roads become treacherous and downright ugly for driving conditions. However, being a sleepy Sunday and us having no plans nor any pressing requirement to leave the house I was suitable satisfied that a hefty dose of snow would be ideal as opposed to during the busy working week. We woke up to nothing. It started with some genuine snowflakes as it got light but they didn't settle and by mid morning there were at best a few patches where you could just about call it snow settled. The snowflakes turned to sleet which ate away at th minute quantity of snow of the ground. The pictures I took are the the residual token of the white stuff. Not spectacular but that's the way it is.

The late mole catches the worm? Perhaps a new motto. I always say 'the early bird catches the worm' as I love to get up early to get first bite of the new day cherry.

 Doggie prints! People prints :/

The glowing red wood of these naked branches. Isn't it magical?

Mossy, snowy boughs.
Take care of yourself in these chilly temperatures.
