Countless

I can't count the number of times this dress has come to my rescue. Somehow (and I don't know why) it hasn't featured on the blog at all, maybe it did once? This is my default dress for work in the summer when I can't face getting into trousers to smarten up, for meals out or drinks at the pub, for walks when I feel rubbish and don't want anything too tight. For a dress which I only bought on a whim, at a low price in a colour I wouldn't usually choose, it's certainly earned it's keep. I'd say it's probably been worn between 50 and 100 times.
Worn here, over thick tights and a bright roll neck jumper, just to further tick the boxes, of course. There's something magical about a dress which is unfitted, completely untailored, yet somehow manages to flatter in a more don't-care manner. The hem which is slightly lower at the back and the faux pocket openings. Black piping round the neck, sleeves and hem. Fabric which neither clings nor billows in the breeze. Won't crease or need to be hung. When it wears out it'll be irreplaceable.
A miserable wet walk in the forest called for a bit of warmth and sturdy boots. My Magnums have been given a polish by my own fair hands and this winter I intend to make better use of them. They give such great ankle support and comfort (even if the lacing up can take forever).

How many times has this dress bailed me out? Countless, plus one.

Take care,
Sophie
