West Acre

We heard a rumour that you could walk around a lake at West Acre. It's not true.

Being familiar with Castle Acre, we go there for a little walk and a good dose of fresh air but had never really thought of trying the other 'Acres'. After a perusal of a map we thought we knew how to drive there but we did a couple of laps of the village before settling on somewhere to park.

It's lovely to walk along the lanes and along the grassy footpaths to the two fords, then weaving through the woodland (look, more mushrooms!).

We've dropped by a couple of times as we enjoyed it so much. Sadly, it seems that people who fail to clean up after their dogs also like the place which makes it stink in the heat (that's over now, but still means you have to watch where you tread).

More to come from near here again soon and that's a good thing.
