Ice

Jpeg

It was cold this weekend, really cold, especially Saturday. The puddles froze over, the roads were icy and the frost glazed everything in a pretty white layer. It certainly called for hats, gloves and scarves when we took Lincoln out for his morning walk (and I was thankful for my new jacket!) even though the sun was bright it didn't really warm things up all that much.

The freezing wintery weather isn't so much of a problem on a personal warmth level; wrapping up means I can remain comfortable so that's no trouble but the icy roads are another matter. The main problem with living in the countryside is that many of the roads do not get gritted which is ridiculous as people still have to drive along them regardless and it's particularly dangerous especially first thing in the morning on a drive to work. Over the years we've had quite a few close calls and even last week I had a minor skid – fortunately I pre-empted it and so was at slow speed wel back from a junction but even so, it's unnerving at the very least.

I took a few photos on my phone of the recent cold snap which I''ll share soon but I have to say that just lately I've not been all that inclined to pick up my main camera. I've not got any proper outfit pictures again recently which does make me really sad as I really liked what I wore, I'll have to see how my selfies turned out.

Have a great start to the week!
