Self azured

Dressing for the countryside in winter
The gorgeous turquoise granny style midi skirt. Much as I love the colour, (can we stretch it to azure for a mildly amusing pun?) I'm none too inspired when it comes to how to wear it. Being such a bold colour, I shy away from wearing too much other colour or pattern with it as it all becomes much louder than I'm happy to look. Back 3 or 4 years ago I would have dived right in to clashing colours and prints but these days I feel more at home in far simpler combinations. Last time I wore it with my ombre knitted jumper which felt wonderfully fresh but since then I've dithered with how else to dress around it. Despite owning a pretty vast collection of jumpers I've not felt like it look right with any, especially the oversized variety, which make me look dumpy (and frumpy) so I went back to the drawing board.

This fabulous quality Lakeland shirt was a very recent charity shop find and is neutral enough to wear with such a bold skirt and to keep warm I risked my rather bright mustard yellow tank. I'm not bowled over with it as a combination but it's not bad.
