Candle, cake or crown

Playing a game of candle, cake or crown
Orange. Bit of a tricky colour to wear subtly. So don't bother trying. I popped on my simple cotton A-line dress and twirl. It's an old Debenhams dress from a while ago found in a charity shop. Another one of those dressses which I can reach for and will always feel good wearing; it's loose, comfortable, a modest length and high neckline. Not too precious to wear anywhere, easy to launder. What's not to like?

Candle, cake or crown. Did you ever play this as a child? The long wispy grasses with big loose seeds are everywhere now and ideal for picking. You hold the blade between thumb and forefinger and pull it through and see what shape the seeds end up in. A candle, cake or crown. Have you played?
