Chicory and friends

The last week and a half have worn me out. I feel like crawling into a bed den and spending the next fortnight in there recuperating.  I'm tired and fed up.
Here's a few sights from a week ago when we took a ride out for some fresh air.

I finally found chicory growing somewhere I could get up close to study and snap it, hurrah!

 Painted lady

Maybe a small white.
Red admiral

Spear thistle?
Little bit of scabious and mugwort
 Bit of burdock.
 Maize crop
The sloes are coming along. Many hedges were flailed at an inconvenient time, the late frosts killed a lot of the blossom so what sloes which have grown will be precious this year.

Take care,
Sophie
