Fade

Back to a bit of autumn colour on the blog today. It won't last forever so I'm making the most of it while it lasts.
This week feels like it is lasting a lifetime. For some reason it's dragging it's feet and I'm not feeling it as much as I expected.

Horse chestnut leaves remind me of kippers when they turn; that shape of the leaf and the fading colours. Those kipper smokehouses with the fishes all hanging up on hooks.

Cute white mushrooms

Tiny pops of blue still showing up thanks to speedwell.
I loved how the leaves faded out from green to yellow on the tops of the branches.

Little mushroom popping up.

These jelly like fungi ought to be easy to identify yet my book doesn't help at all.
The window for gathering sloes is vast, it must be one of the longest seasons for foraging.

Take care,

Sophie
