Putting in a request

Norfolk countryside summer blogger
Can I put in a request for dry weather at the weekend please so that I might get a chance to enjoy some time wandering in peace with my camera? It's been weeks since the stars aligned and I got to spend some quality time in the countryside. It's my own fault of course, for not grasping opportunities as they present themselves but it now feels like it's been far too long.

Maybe the summer is the hardest time for photography. When I think of the year as a whole I think of all the crazy conditions of winter, the infinite new happenings in spring and the colours of autumn, then summer.... The light is so bright in summer, often too bright. There's often nothing especially to see that's new or that stands out. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore the season but for the purposes of creating photographs, well, it can be more tricky.

I'm a heat appreciator. The soaring temperatures, the days when the sun never sulks behind a cloud, those days you can hear the ground sizzle, those days are mine. Too hot? Never too hot. I'll eat an ice lolly. I'll splash water on my neck, I won't complain.

I'm horrified it's so late in July already. This scares me slightly, but I'll take each day and treasure it to make the most of every minute.
Take care,
Sophie
