The Peak District is so scenic, it really takes my breath away.
This is the second instalment of our walk above Ladybower reservoir, you can catch up with the first part if you missed it. The Peaks are wonderful all year round and offer something different in all seasons but always a good dose of fresh air.
C pointed out this example of hedge-laying; I took a closer look and to my untrained eye it looked rather like each stem had been cut through too far, some only just clinging on by the skin of bark.
Part way up an ascent we came across a lovely little shelter which had a bench for weary walkers. There were some sweet little touches inside and this poem was on thee wall; it may well have been written just for me. Such a delight to read!
These sheep were such nosey girls! Want a photo? Psh.
The drystone walls are such a novelty as we have none at all nearby. They are such a wonderful thing to see, a tradition that is so important to the area. You can't beat seeing these walls up and down the countryide.

We parked by Ladybower reservoir, there's a long layby but it does get very busy, we were lucky to find a space) and took a walk across the road. I think the book we found it in said it was around 4.5 miles so it was just about long enough to be a proper walk and took less than 3 hours.
Never underestimate just how windy it will be up high. We took a walk along the summit and the wind was incredibly strong. I had to brace myself! C leant into the wind but I may have blown away if I'd tried it! C has asked me to point out he is not this size, his coat has been inflated by the wind.
I had to laugh. I saw a woman wearing the exact same Mountain Warehouse coat as me but her partner was also wearing the same shade as C. Doubles!
