If a blog were a comic book then this would be an ideal outfit in which to comically undertake petty crime. Why do illustrated burglars wear stripes? It's a puzzle. Surely either all black or a camouflage print would be much more appropriate.
When you read style blogs it is quite hard not to pinch little ideas or whole ideas from other people. Since getting somewhat disillusioned with fast fashion and the way it really doesn't cater for my personal style, outdoor lifestyle and generally POCKET I steer clear of the 'latest looks' but it is great to read posts from friends of what they've worn. I'm sure some of their good influence has rubbed off on me but I'd hate to think I'd subconsciously nicked a whole concept.It must happen though as virtually no 'idea' is a new thought, only recycled existing content in your mind.
What's this, a new tunic dress? Yes. I found this a week ago and liked the easy fit and half length sleeves. As I hoped, it looks fine with and without tights as well as belted or loose. Tights already! Yes, but they're thin-ish. The sun popping in out out from behind the clouds, sudden downpours and a nippy breeze are not conducive to venturing out bare-legged.
The back detail is shown in typical Sophie style (neat bows looking untidy, sorry), but it's a point of interest nevertheless.
 I haven't worn this necklace in a while but it's one of my 'grown up' pieces, it just feels quite subtle and understated as opposed to bling. Pleasant to add a little colour to an outfit. In fact the whole look is more on the smart side than I often go for. Tidy and sensible, presentable. I must remember to pop this on again when I need to feel presentable at short notice.

When was the last time you saw me in stripes? It's not often, that's for sure. This cute little cropped jumper is a recent buy from a shopping trip with Kezzie and Hazel. I'm not always fond of cropped lengths but on reviewing these pictures I feel like I made a good choice this time.

I was a 90's kid, during that decade I went from age 4 to 14 so I'm legit.

I've always been interested in clothes, styling,, trends, fashion (at high street level) and that's been the case for as long as I can remember. In the nineties I went through a whole range of preferred looks but I went through a patch where I loved to wear black a lot; though this was met with parental disapproval as to be expected really. If I could, I would have worn this outfit, it was perfect! Big black boots, full length black skirt (extra 90's points for that cargo pocket), black tee with black sheer overlayer (with that weird sleeve frill we endured), choker necklace and eyeliner.
NAILED IT. Better late than never.

Once upon a time I had a black and grey Primark dress that I loved dearly, in fact it was one of the first outfits I ever posted on here (before I had a little cull). It was one I loved and wore quite a bit but then the unthinkable happened; it vanished! In reality it either broke and got binned or in a fit of madness I may have donated it back to charity – I never did get to the bottom of it. Fast-forward a couple of years I came across this alternative one from the same mould which in fact is a tad better as it has a more flattering neckline as well as being a lighter colour and these buttons which add a little something.

This shirt was also a recent charity shop buy, I do like a nice thick shirt and this one ticks the 'so thick it rustles' box. Wearing long sleeved shirts in winter means it's a doddle to stay cosy; I'm wearing a thermal vest and a long sleeved top underneath. When it's this cold out it has to be thermal tights all the way, I've found out of Primark and Peacocks that Primark win every time. I stocked up on a few colours when I saw them but it's usually black that I wear, my days of bright tights seem gone, I just don't feel like I want to reach for them anymore.

If you're wondering why I've cut my feet off in all the pictures it's because I slightly misjudged where the camera was pointing and after a few minutes of faffing around outside I decided that I wasn't about to start again and besides, you can see my boot in one of my pictures. Note to self, stand even further back next time, like the other side of the fence.

Wearing most of the jewellery I own, all at once which is my favourite thing to do at the moment, all from random places. My hair seems to be growing at quite a pace at the moment which I'm so happy about, I'm yearning for long hair and finally it looks like it might be a possibility this coming year, hurrah!

It's not often I buy new-new clothes, except if I find something that I adore too much to ignore or perhaps if I have a voucher given to me then I have a peruse until I find something that tickles my fancy. It was the voucher-induced browsing that lead me to this beauty from Asos which I absolutely adore. Naturally, it was a while ago so it's now out of stock but this monochrome embroidery shirt dress was something that really caught my eye and called my name in no uncertain voice.

Remember I casually mentioned my adoration for all things black? Well black and white still counts as black in my head. I can't get enough of the white cuffs and embroidered shoulders with the collar, it's perfect with black tights and my buckled boots which conjures up pictures of a Victorian maid inspired outfit in my mind.

I'm rather taken with my new thing of wearing red lipstick, I've got a few different shades which I'll share at some point and it's a lip based revelation to me. That and eyeliner. Who knows, beauty blogging may be the way forward...? No, it's not.

I mentioned before about having such a backlog of things to share with you; it's an ever growing list of days out, finds, outfits and an accumulation of thoughts and musings. Instead of bringing you all the summer posts first, which I had intended to do, it's proving too tempting to run with what's fresh and ready to go. Having these outfit pictures edited and a shortage of time means I'm showing these to you ahead of time, oh well!

If you know my style and preferences you'll probably be surprised to see me in an off-white lace skater dress; it's pretty much everything I've shunned before. However, I'm feeling better about my middle at the minute so fitted bodices are creeping their way into my wardrobe. Something has struck a chord in my brain with monochrome and I'm sure that this will be a look I am wearing a-plenty this autumn/winter. My trusty leather jacket is in for some serious use with my (new) array of black boots – this pair are a rip-off of the beautiful River Island pair I bought that were far too-small-yet-I-still-can't-get-rid-of and are sadly not a comfortable design but at least the medium size heel makes me easy wearing, even if my soles burn after a few hours.

I wore this in to town for a quick spot of Christmas shopping with Husband at the weekend and it turned out to be a little bit of a strain. The wool skirt clearly needs a petticoat underneath to stop it from clinging to me legs and itself but unfortunately I only realised this once in town so had to contend with that as well as manhandling bags and shoppers. The skirt is one that Hazel pointed out to be on our charity shop marathon way back and I knew I *had* to own it; the colours are amazing, plus it is such a neat length and has the classic comedy giant safety pin.

I knew Husband had to be back home in plenty of time for a meeting (boo) and we kind of got carried away in town with shopping, browsing and a large breakfast at 'Spoons (guilty as charged) so I knew we were cutting it fine. I'm trying to get outfit pictures in the can while out an about so we headed into the countryside, hoping that inspiration would strike and I could just hop out and get a couple of snaps. We missed the ideal spot so I turned down a narrow lane hoping to find a place to park. To my dismay, not only was there nowhere to pull off, the lane ended abruptly and turned into a private drive, so I had no option but to reverse half a mile with someone following me too. I'm not the best at reversing to start with but the lane wasn't even straight so it took an eternity and wasted valuable time. The next lane happened to be far better and brought us out at a tiny patch of woodland I had visited a few years ago and completely forgotten how to find it. Honeypot Wood is the cutest name ever, don't you think?

Naturally I can't possibly drive in these boots so when I parked up in a hurry I had to yank them on in haste and the tongue got stuck down by my toes which was really painful so I had to hobble to a fairly dry area and try to to lose my balance while the shutter clicked away. Turns out these pictures are probably my favourites yet. I shall return.
