I'm not going anywhere; with a sturdy trunk to cling to, roots stand me firm and my branches provide shelter and shade.

This almost tapestry skirt was an obvious choice for a murky day out in Tideswell, Derbyshire a couple of weeks back. We headed out for Sunday lunch at The Royal Oak at Hurdlow near Bakewell (the food was lovely but they were very busy, definitely book) then while it stayed dry took a walk through Tideswell Dale. It's been a pretty good weekend. So action packed that in fact I'm not ready to share much with you as yet (by action packed, I mean I've been wandering around the countryside again and got carried away with time).

Naturally, as the weekends race by at an alarming pace I totally lost all track of time, bar downloading plenty of photographs and editing these few I've not got much ready to share with you.

I rewore this blouse and jumper combination as I loved it so much a month or so ago (without blogging it) even though the blouse is in need of some alteration – just wait, I have great plans to get busy with my sewing machine. This almost tapestry skirt is so unusual but again, perfect for this time of year; keeping warm without dragging in the mud.

My hair is getting really long now, I haven't had it cut since August or something... I might have missed an appointment and now can't bear to crawl back in and apologise awkwardly. Plus my hair is LONG for the first time in almost two decades so I'm currently relishing having a long unruly mane.

At no point in time did Chris mention that my skirt completely blends into the background, or that in most pictures you can't see my eyes because I'm squinting but it's all par for the course. I got a couple of pictures I don't mind, pearls and all so it was worthwhile.

I don't have much time at the moment and frustratingly I haven't made any positive changes in order to get the good nights sleep I've been promising myself. The candle is being burned at both ends which is never clever but conversely I don't feel as dreadful as I should, in fact I feel fine. What with a gazillion photos to edit and around 8 started posts with none even vaguely close to being finished I am at risk of not blogging for days on end so I thought I'd just spend a couple of minutes on this one to at least make myself feel a bit like I've made some tangible progress. This almost tapestry skirt is one found on the great charity shop haul spree with Hazel back in the autumn and has only just got it's first wear (sh eknows how much I bought that has not made it to the blog yet, eeek). This is a midi length and shape I don't generally wear so it makes a fun change as well as sporting an interesting colour and design.

The amount of times I've had tucked-in-knitwear envy is high, but finally I feel like I pulled it off here. Hurrah! My hunt for a good leather belt is ongoing but I was lucky enough to find this gorgeous vintage leather one which seems unworn for £1 locally. Luck was on my side.
