I couldn't get enough of the snow capped mountains in the distance, with the reds, yellows oranges and purples of the leaves all around the lake... It was amazing to be there at that exact point in the season. Just gorgeous.







I know that we've been to Pooley Bridge before, around 10 years ago when we got a 'steamer' ride across the lake but on that day it was foggy and drizzly so in honesty I didn't think much of the lake or village at all on that occasion. But this was poles apart. Crisp, clear and in full colour.


It was freezing, I must make mention of how cold I felt. Numb hands and nose even though I was wrapped up in everything I could find.
