Pooley Bridge, Ullswater in Autumn Glory
Monday, November 14, 2016
Last weekend we were lucky enough to only a couple of miles away from Pooley Bridge which lies at the tip of Ullswater in the Lake District. We dropped by around 14:30 in early November and the sun was already trying to make an exit from the sky. The light was beautiful, giving a soft glow all around.
I couldn't get enough of the snow capped mountains in the distance, with the reds, yellows oranges and purples of the leaves all around the lake... It was amazing to be there at that exact point in the season. Just gorgeous.I know that we've been to Pooley Bridge before, around 10 years ago when we got a 'steamer' ride across the lake but on that day it was foggy and drizzly so in honesty I didn't think much of the lake or village at all on that occasion. But this was poles apart. Crisp, clear and in full colour.
It was freezing, I must make mention of how cold I felt. Numb hands and nose even though I was wrapped up in everything I could find.
Hope you enjoyed these pictures, they're so of my favourites this season.
