Bring On The Cold
Tuesday, November 08, 2016I'm a firm believer that getting outside is a pretty healthy and essential part of daily life. The last few days have felt mighty chilly; we had our first frosts in Norfolk and the temperatures in general have plummeted. We've just got home from a weekend away in Cumbria, a cosy cottage near Penrith, which had an open fire which we made good use of in the dark evenings. The garden was a dream, it really was. In mid autumn it was full of rich colours and berries, oranges in every shade. I loved it!
What I want to say is you should get out for a bit no matter what! Yes, I know it's a bit daunting to step out into the cold but once you're dressed for it there is no stopping you.
Vest, layers, warm knits, scarf, good windproof jacket.
Bring on the cold!
I'm really impressed with this Berghaus jacket which is a high quality waterproof. There is something particularly reassuring about a proper waterproof isn't there? The cut is really flattering for starters; I feel ladylike! The colour is really autumnal, a deep plum colour with a brighter lining. There's a fitted hood too with a good bit of velcro to secure it up snugly and it zips up high. The pockets zip up, plus the cuffs can be adjusted to fit too. The best bit? My jacket is on sale woop!
If you stay snug and cosy then time outside is so much more enjoyable. Get out for a walk in the countryside, a potter round the garden, a spot of outdoor sports like a run or a bit of bootcamp. The fresh air is so beneficial, it makes such a difference to daily life. Owning a dog means that we have to get out for a walk each morning so you're at an advantage if you have a waggly-tailed four legged member of the family. Millets have got a great range of womens jackets to suit all outdoor eventualities this season, with some gorgeous looking cosy padded coats.
So whatever your excuse it's probably not good enough, get yourself outside!
Bring on the cold.

Big thank you to Millets for sending me this jacket for the new season. All content and opinions are my own, as always.
