For keeps

We've had a few days of hot, windy weather. You know how much I adore the simplicity of throwing on a comfortable dress and just getting out there. Do you remember back to almost three years ago when I revamped this blog and wore this dress? My style has remained pretty consistent since then, with so much of my wardrobe getting worn year after year. To me, it's not relevant if I wear something once a year or twenty five times; favourites are keepers and deserve their place on the rail. Perfect for packing on holidays, throwing on for surprise trips out, using as an excellent fallback plan for when first choice just wont fit or you spill coffee everywhere.
So what's changed in three years? My hair is longer. I wear less make up. Sharing what and when and how I fancy is my priority. No, it's not conducive to becoming popular or ticking SEO boxes or making [faux] friendships with other bloggers, but then I realised a long time ago that my creative control and sanity rested on just going with the flow and not trying to conform.
My heart is buried deeper in the countryside; the place I can wander in freely and drown in it's infinite beauty and wonder.
Good things are for keeps.

Good things are for keeps <3 :)
ReplyDeleteAnd these pictures show that, they are beautiful...I wonder exactly how old that tree is, for example? I find the more I "sink" into middle age, the more impossible it could be for me to conform...and like you, I turn more and more away from the rat race and to the natural beauty to (try) to retain my sanity...not always sure if I'm succeeding, but I try! One only has to see the amount of photos of our coastline I post online (mainly on FB; I really should do something with my empty Tumblr blog), and, as you know, my seaside is your countryside. But seeing your countryside makes me yearn to revisit...Jackie and I used to love our camping when I could still "scamper around"!
