Snowdrops - the first sign of spring
Tuesday, February 07, 2017
I saw plenty at the weekend. Snowdrops in bloom here, there and everywhere! Everywhere, except it would seem, our garden and allotment. I'm still waiting. Patience is rife, I'm going to give them a chance. I snapped these while out for a wander on Saturday but couldn't get as close as I'd like but that joy will have to wait a little longer. Apparently snowdrops have a scent; this year I shall give them a sniff to ascertain for myself whether any fragrance emits and report back.
My usual line of thinking is that snowdrops herald the coming of spring; however C informs me that we're forecast the possibility of snow toward the end of the week which does slightly scupper my plans to sow some seeds in the greenhouse. Maybe they best wait another week or so...
