Way back in early September we took our first ever trip to Holkham. Can you believe we'd never visited before? Some people looked at me in horror that after 6 years of living in Norfolk we'd not visited before.

If you've not been either, the village of Holkham is on the North Norfolk coast and has a generous parking avenue which takes you down to the beach and the walk through the forest alongside it. We took a circular walk through the woodland then returned along the beach which made for a delightful walk. The lazier of visitors seemed to just head for the closest patch of sand and settle there so the walk was quiet even on a busy day.
