Colourful comfrey
Monday, May 29, 2017
Before these large beasties started to flower I was uncertain what they were; considering some kind of dock or sunflower. I spent a good while thumbing through the wildflower book and only upon closer scrutiny I discovered it to be comfrey (it's more often white). Don't the shades of purple look astonishingly pretty? I think so.
The bees rather fancy the pretty flowers too. Bee-utiful.

Perfect bee shaped flower. Rather like Borage which bees adore!
ReplyDeleteHaving read your post and begun a walk 10mins later, I spent the whole day seeing Comfrey and smugly telling CBC it was Comfrey!!!
