Time to reflect
Monday, June 18, 2018
I've been reflecting lately and many things are making me unhappy. It's people, it's time, it's many facets of life. Over the last few months I have been giving it some serious consideration whether to step down from blogging, step back from social media and shut the door on that path in order to free up every part of my existence that it reaches. No more photography, no more writing.
I know it's a hobby and although it's a discreet one at that, it does infiltrate further than it would appear on the surface.
Life would be quieter and I do yearn for quietness but how far can you push it before the quiet turns in to a deafening silence?
I'm still chewing it over.
Take care,
Sophie

“If thou of fortune be bereft,

two loaves, sell one, and with the
dole, buy hyacinths to feed thy soul.”
― John Greenleaf Whittier
This was inscribed on a wall at the college where I took my degree. Hope it helps you.
It would be such a shame if you vanished from our lives , i am sure i am not alone in saying we would miss your tweets ,the wake up good morning and good night, your well written blogs and lovely photos so on behalf of all who follow you stay with us even if you feel you have do a few less blogs.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't stop, but I understand if you do. You can only blog if you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteAs you know I used to frequent twitter, but I realised that I was no longer enjoying it, so I stepped away, now I dip in and out occasionally. It's better.
Maybe a rest or doing less is the answer?
xx
I hope you don't give up! Your blog is something I enjoy very, very much! So much beauty and GOOD writing. You don't ramble, yet your writing is poetic and creative and has a good dose of interesting vocabulary which I believe is rather rare in the blogging world. BUT, as always, it must be up to you!xxx
ReplyDeleteI’m sure it seems best to stop at times, comments and people can be hurtful but there are many out here that pick up a lot from your writings and your photographs feed their soul but it seems one sided maybe, but you do give joy and solace to those that read I hope you don’t give up but understand if you do, keep smiling and keep the natural world in your heart.
ReplyDeleteI love to hear your comments xx
