My boho summer
Wednesday, June 18, 2014This summer is all about boho for me, I'm obsessed with floral crowns and all I want to do is wander barefoot through the countryside in something simple that lets me feel like I'm thirteen and without a care in the world.
This floral crown is my first buy, from Primark no less for £3. It was the only design in store at the time but it was simply perfect and I was thrilled to find it. Chris is utterly baffled by it but I'm sure by the time August swings around he'll be asking to borrow it too*. I first wore it to a dear friend's wedding, here then to an evening party last week. I don't think I can bear to be parted with it for long at a time.
This dress is one of those eBay wins from a few years ago that sat dormant in my wardrobe through last summer for no good reason. In my head I was sure it was baggier than this (maybe it was and it shrunk in the wash or I've filled out) but it seems to be just the right fit to be comfortable yet semi-fitted without needing a belt. The silky material is light yet strong and the floral print is one of my favourites. Just look at the effort here, I even co-ordinated my nails (how often do you see this?!).
Dress – ebay, floral crown – Primark, bracelets – gifts
I never intended to go barefoot but after wandering around the forest paths in my now worn out pair of boots they looked distinctly shabby so I flung them into the long grass. Immediately I felt much better!
My magpie eyes are already on the hunt for more garland-style floral crowns (my collection is up to 2 so far) and I need you to tell me if you've seen any reasonably priced ones around.
Summer is my time and I want to make the most of it.
