Snug as a bug
Monday, October 19, 2015The temperatures have crept downwards over the last few weeks and it's beginning to feel really rather chilly in the evenings now. The darker evenings have rounded us all up to the living room at an earlier hour lately and to be honest, I don't mind one bit. My absolute must-have is a blanket for the sofa; I keep one to hand all year round and it only gets set aside on the very hottest of days.
Our old cream blanket has been waning in it's visual appeal of late and after a bazillion washes it's lost most of the original softness. Imagine my glee when Heat Holders got in touch and asked me whether I wanted to review something from their range! Naturally, I dithered. Anything with a purpose of keeping me warm is pretty much a necessity in my book. In the end I decided to choose this black Snuggle Ups Blanket. When it arrived I was pleased to feel that the weight was good, nice and substantial. (Not like one I bought last year which turned out to be more like a napkin than a blanket.) So our gorgeous new black blanket now adorns our sofa, all set for the winter. You can get the blanket in seven different colours so if black is a little too sombre then fear not, maybe moon rock or mulled wine is more for you.
I'm enjoying snuggling under the deliciously soft material and warming up a treat; the 1.4 tog rating ensures that even on coldest of winter nights we'll be kept warm and the luxury fleece material feels wonderful against my skin, I like to give it a little appreciative stroke. It is perfect. Plenty big enough at 1.8m x 2m.
There is one major drawback, being the others it attracts! My husband is very welcome to share but the dog is also keen to get a piece of the action; Lincoln definitely has the advantage with camouflage. Can you spot the dog?!
I'm all set to stay warm on the sofa this winter but I've already penned my Christmas wish list for Santa (I do hope he's paying attention!). This Snugovers fleece jumper is exactly what I need to pop on first thing in the morning to keep me toasty while I pop the kettle on and make some porridge. I'd love this long sleeved vest to keep me snug each day over the coldest weeks, I firmly believe in dressing from the base layer upwards. I'm always looking for hats to keep my head and ears warm while out walking Lincoln. And finally, you know how much I rely on thermal tights when wearing dresses, skirts and shorts on nippy days.
I'm a big fan of Heat Holders! Have you discovered the best ways to keep warm over winter?
Sophie
Thanks to Heat Holders for sending me this blanket to review. All opinions my own.
