I can't wear hats or scarves

wearing a hat and scarf in winter
Ok, hands up, I admit it; I can't wear hats or scarves. I look a right idiot. Before these pictures were taken I re-adjusted my scarf in an attempt to make it look cooler and sat my hat a little differently to avoid it looking like a giant bobbled teat on my head. Even looking at these pictures makes me cringe a little...

I have to say a big thank you to Hazel for giving me this beautiful scarf for Christmas. It's the softest scarf I've ever owned and has plenty of volume to keep me wrapped up snuggly and warm over the col months. I can tell you it's my go-to scarf on the freezing cold days! (even if I usually wear it so my neck looks three times the size and the dangly fronds sometimes dangle in strange places.)

Hats just don't suit me. But that's ok. I need to keep warm and so compromises have to be made,

Do you get yourself in a tangle with hats and scarves too? Make me feel a little less alone.

  1. I hate myself in hats, whatever type I just look stupid in them, recently in the cold spell I'v been sat at the football match with a cold head because I hate the look in a hat, although if I'm going for a remote walk in the Peak District I will wear one.Have never bothered with scarves,I prefer to zip my coat right up over a thick jumper.

  2. I think you look lovely, but definitely know what you mean - scarves are ok but hats are a nightmare for me, just have never suited them!

  3. I'm so glad you like it! I love the bundled up my-neck-is-three-times-larger-than-normal look, it's what I aim for everytime I wear a scarf. I don't wear scarves as often as I used to, with my hair bobbed the hair and scarf jostle for position and I end up with the weirdest, widest hair ever! I think you look great in yours though. And you can wear hats! I remember the first Latitude we went to you plonked a hat on your head to carry it from the car. I remember thinking 'that's so not fair, she's literally just dumped that on her head and she looks a-mazing!!' It was a grey trilby type hat.
I like a nice woolly hat or a baker boy cap anything else looks ridiculous!

  7. Personally I think you look lovely, and nice and warm, but I know exactly what you mean as I don't feel like I can wear hats either! I feel like I have a big head and with my thicker hair they never seem to sit properly on me. I had one grey, beret style hat that did fit me nicely, but I lost it so I'm forever on the hunt for a similar style as that one does seem to work. I love your scarf too, the print is lovely and the colour of your coat is gorgeous! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and have had a lovely start to the New Year! - tasha
