Sunset in the snow

Monday, March 05, 2018

What a week it has been. The vast majority of the UK has been touched by snow to some degree though I can only say with much certainty what it's been like round our way. You get a better idea of what qualifies as remote on snow days, as some people found out. After threats of snow on Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday it was waking up on Wednesday morning with a solid 3 inches that sealed the deal. It was fortunate that I could clear my week of appointments and reschedule for better days as throughout Wednesday the blizzards ensured by nightfall that a total of at least 6 inches coated the ground. C came home a little earlier that day, so to make the best of wintry conditions we took a walk to see our local countryside at it's snowy best. We wrapped up in our warmest The sunset only added to the magic, ensuring that the pristine white carpet took on a warm orange glow.

It was a freezing -5 or something, but we didn't want to miss out on possibly our only chance to see the snow. Capturing a snow day was important to me.

Of course, the snow shall continue to dominate the week's posts though not entirely.
Take care,
Sophie
