What's this? More fly agaric. Naturally. Did I mention before that the funny little white blotchy blobs on the surface of the red caps are actually the remains of a membrane that it's 'wrapped' in at an earlier life stage? Like a bit of natural packaging. How fascinating.
You can see a little strand of 'wrapping' membrane a-dangling from this toadstool.
Mind the puff ball.
I like the sturdiness of these style of fungus, like a nice strong parasol sunshade.
Back out into the open air for some seasonal colour.

The last day of freedom. Ah, here we go for another stint of locking down and laying low. Stay safe and take care everyone. There are better times ahead. Do what feels right, take it easy on yourself.

I didn't know that.
ReplyDeleteThe more you look at them the prettier they become.

That totally makes sense! I think mushrooms will be useful in the battle against plastic! When I see pictures of Fly Agaric, I ALWAYS think of you and that marvellous first picture you took of one all those years ago. I think we need an archive repost back to thst post so I don't have to search for it!!!😁
