Walking around Ennerdale lake
Thursday, May 07, 2015Whilst away for our long weekend in the Lake District we wanted to go for a few walks to take in the scenery. I'm not sure I said as much, but my emphasis was not on taking in any mountains but more of a gentle wander and we found just what I wanted. After a bit of Googling we found that in fact you can walk round Ennerdale lake. It's a proper path which for the vast majority of the route is dead easy walking with just one slightly hairy ascent up a rocky patch but really, it's not that bad.
As we took the cameras and took an awful lot of photographs it did take quite a while to walk round, maybe 4 hours? I think in fact if you had kept up a gentle pace it would have been more like three but the distance was around 6 miles I believe.
The weather was dry but fairly dull but the scenery was still particularly inspiring in my book.
I hope you like my selection of photographs,
Sophie
