Rosebay willowherb

Rosebay Willowherb adds a pretty pink hue to the country scenes at this time of year. The flowers bloom upwards in spires which ripen and turn wispy in their floaty seed heads. All that's left at the end is a feathery explosion, a pillow's filling strewn all around the place.
Take care,
Sophie

Those and hairy willow herb really mark mid to late summer for me
ReplyDeleteMy Mum said this flower reminded her of WW2 - the brave pink blossoms were the first flowers to spring up on the bombsites in London, bringing beauty and fresh hope.
