Wings, 'shrooms and the rest

Good morning everyone, a short working week for me and only 4 posts on the blog. It's September already, but still 3 weeks left of summer - and don't forget it. My folder of pictures from August is still yielding up some interesting pictures to share so in a week of pretty much purely countryside pictures, here we go again!
Above, I think this is a Large White (the brassica loving ones) and they virtually never land for me - so this shot is one I've spent ages waiting for. Below, in flight!
Speckled wood butterfly, several were basking in the sun.
Some really ugly fungi! These pictures are more to document what I've seen more than to share a pretty sight.
Take care,
Sophie

Some excellent posts this week Sophie showing what can be seen in our wonderful countryside .
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend.
I'm so glad you mentioned three weeks of summer remain, I hate seeing autumn creep into life too early! OK, so the weather isn't exactly playing ball but hey, summer's summer, until it's not.
ReplyDeleteYes EXACTLY Summer is still here. On September 1st, I saw one if those, "Yay, pumpkin latter, jumpers!" Posts and I gnashed my teeth!x
ReplyDeleteWhy is it when I see butterflies I never have my camera with me...
